At the meeting, the two Ministers shared that the two countries have had a lot of potential for cooperation in the field of energy, especially renewable energy.
Minister Chris Bowen shared information about the role of offshore wind power, Australia’s strengths in providing raw materials such as coal, gas, LNG for electricity production and emphasized cooperation goals. of the two countries towards the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework.

With this mechanism, the two sides will have many opportunities to exchange and promote stronger cooperation in the fields of energy and minerals, and will also serve as a basis for Australia to continue to be a partner in providing raw materials. A special summit commemorating 50 years of ASEAN-Australia relations was held in Melbourne, Australia from March 5-6 with the participation of leaders of ASEAN countries, Australia and the Secretary General of ASEAN. Prime Minister Timor Leste was invited to attend this conference as an observer.
The conference with the theme “Partnership for the Future” was held in the context of dynamic cooperation between ASEAN and Australia in many fields. The Prime Minister affirmed that the two governments will continue to create favorable conditions for this cooperation activity. The Vietnamese Government will protect the legal and legitimate rights and interests of businesses and investors; continue to promote 3 strategic breakthroughs (institutions, infrastructure and human resources), reform, simplify administrative procedures, and cut costs for investors. The Prime Minister asked Australia to support Vietnam in the three strategic breakthroughs mentioned above.
