The Thai Prime Minister announced he would encourage Thai businesses to expand investment in Vietnam during talks with Prime Minister Le Minh Hung in Hanoi.
During today’s talks in Hanoi, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul assessed that the relationship between the two countries is currently at its best stage ever, with a solid foundation of political trust, dynamic economic cooperation, and increasingly close people-to-people exchanges.
Prime Minister Anutin affirmed that Thailand always values and wishes to continue promoting comprehensive and substantive cooperation with Vietnam in all fields. He highly appreciated Vietnam’s investment and business environment and hoped that the government would continue to support and resolve difficulties for Thai businesses operating in Vietnam.

Prime Minister Anutin affirmed that he would encourage Thai businesses to expand investment in areas where Vietnam has strengths and aligns with its development orientation, and expressed his hope that Vietnamese businesses would increase investment in Thailand, promoting business connections, supply chains, and strategic cooperation projects between the two countries.

Both sides are effectively utilizing the Vietnam-Thailand Joint Trade Committee mechanism, reducing trade barriers, creating favorable conditions for goods to access each other’s markets, striving to soon achieve the trade turnover target of 25 billion USD and aiming for 50 billion USD in a balanced and sustainable manner.
The two countries also agreed to promote expanded cooperation in agriculture, ensuring food security, and in new areas such as science, technology, AI, digital transformation, digital economy, green economy, just energy transition, and innovation.
Prime Minister Le Minh Hung affirmed that Vietnam always encourages and creates favorable conditions for foreign investors, including those from Thailand, to invest and do business in Vietnam.
Vietnam and Thailand will continue to strengthen political trust, effectively utilize existing bilateral cooperation mechanisms, and coordinate closely to effectively implement the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in the coming period.
The two countries also agreed to strengthen defense and security cooperation, maintain joint maritime patrols, coordinate efforts to combat transnational crime, especially drug trafficking, human trafficking, and high-tech crime, and reaffirmed their commitment not to allow any individual or organization to use their territory against the other.

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung thanked the Thai government for its attention and support to the Vietnamese community in Thailand, creating favorable conditions for the preservation and promotion of the values of the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Sites as well as the system of Vietnamese temples in Thailand, and requested that they continue to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live, study, and work stably.
The two Prime Ministers agreed to continue close coordination within ASEAN and multilateral mechanisms, emphasizing the importance of maintaining ASEAN’s solidarity, unity, and central role, and promoting ASEAN’s common stance on the South China Sea based on international law, particularly the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS 1982).
Prime Minister Le Minh Hung proposed that the two sides coordinate in mobilizing resources, strengthening infrastructure connectivity, trade, investment, water resource management, climate change response, digital transformation, green transformation, and innovation.
The Thai Prime Minister stated that close coordination will continue to enhance the effectiveness of sub-regional cooperation mechanisms, contributing to the sustainable development and shared prosperity of the Mekong region.
Prime Minister Anutin is on an official visit to Vietnam and attending the third ASEAN Future Forum (AFF) on June 9-10, at the invitation of Prime Minister Le Minh Hung.
