SOUTH KOREA On the afternoon of July 3, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited Samsung’s semiconductor complex in Gyeonggi province before concluding his official visit to South Korea.

Samsung Vice Chairman and CEO Young Hyun Jun, Samsung Chief Financial Officer Hark Kyu Park and other senior leaders of the group accompanied the Prime Minister to visit semiconductor product models.

Acknowledging Samsung’s effective investment and business activities in the fields of manufacturing and production of electronic equipment and components in Vietnam over the past nearly 20 years, the Prime Minister affirmed that the Government will create favorable conditions for Samsung to continue its business activities in Vietnam.

Regarding Vietnam’s priority to promote the semiconductor and AI industries in the coming period, the Government leader said that Vietnam welcomes and encourages businesses to invest in semiconductor and AI technology, and promote the ecosystem for these fields. He said that Vietnam will improve its policies and institutions, train high-quality human resources, and develop infrastructure to best serve corporations investing in the development of the semiconductor industry.

He believes that Samsung will always develop and cooperate in successful and sustainable investment in Vietnam.

Semiconductors are core technologies, along with other technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), which play an essential role in the development of science, technology and the global economy, especially in the era of the 4th industrial revolution. Samsung has focused on investing in developing the semiconductor industry, providing foundation products for electronic devices, microchips, and other electronic components, which are widely used in all areas of life, from smartphones, computers, to cars and medical equipment.

On the same afternoon, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited the family of Jang Yeong Gak and Vu Thai Linh – a Vietnamese-Korean multicultural family in Osan city, Gyeonggi province.

The Government leader said he was very happy to witness the family’s happy and successful life. He said that nearly 800 years ago, when Prince Ly Long Tuong left Dai Viet for Korea, the Vietnamese and Korean peoples had a predestined relationship. Through ups and downs, breakthroughs, the relationship between the two countries “has never been as good as it is today”.

“Vietnamese people in Korea, especially Vietnamese-Korean multicultural families, are the bridges that foster the relationship between the two countries and peoples,” said the Prime Minister, hoping that the family of Mr. Jang Yeong Gak and Ms. Vu Thai Linh, along with other Vietnamese families in Korea, will continue to unite and build a beautiful life.

He hopes that families will comply with local laws, behave culturally, contribute to promoting the image of the country, culture and people of Vietnam and foster increasingly good relations between Vietnam and Korea.
