NVIDIA continues to visit Vietnam to survey investment locations
(PLO) – NVIDIA, the world’s leading artificial intelligence chip manufacturer, continues to send a delegation to Vietnam to survey Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City to invest capital.
Four months after NVIDIA Chairman Jesen Huang’s visit to Vietnam, today, April 22, Mr. Keith Strier – Vice Chairman of NVIDIA Group was present in Hanoi and had a meeting with Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung.
At the meeting, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung shared information about the strategy for developing the semiconductor and AI industry in Vietnam; human resource development project for the semiconductor industry ; business investment environment in Vietnam…
After working with Minister Nguyen Chi Dung, the NVIDIA Group’s delegation visited the facility of the National Innovation Center at Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park (NIC Hoa Lac).
A source said that the NVIDIA Vice President’s meeting is part of the working program in Vietnam from today to April 26. Accordingly, Mr. Keith Strier and his colleagues want to survey locations in three localities including Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City to consider high -tech investment .
Specifically, NVIDIA wants to work with relevant central and local agencies to prepare to establish a Center for Research, Development and Training on Artificial Intelligence (AI); installing supercomputer systems; Transfer part of the production of image processing units (GPUs) for supercomputers to Vietnam.
In Ho Chi Minh City, on April 25 and 26, NVIDIA’s delegation will have four working meetings with the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park; HCM city national university; CMC Technology Group; and met with the Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee to discuss investment in the semiconductor industry.
In December 2023, NVIDIA Chairman Jesen Huang paid a working visit to Vietnam. He highly appreciated Vietnam’s great potential and opportunities in the semiconductor and AI industries, especially Vietnam’s human resources in this field.
Mr. Jensen Huang stated: “AI is a new wave that appears and is bigger than PCs, Internet and cloud computing, and will revolutionize every industry. Building a culture focused on STEM activities, a strong pipeline of software engineers, a strong infrastructure in technology manufacturing and a strong determination of the Government to transform the country Relying on technology, Vietnam is positioned to catch the new wave of AI. We look forward to turning Vietnam into a major AI innovation and production center for NVIDIA.”
Meeting Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on this occasion, Mr. Huang announced that NVIDIA would build a base in Vietnam in the field of semiconductors.
NVIDIA is currently one of the largest companies on the stock market worth less than 2,000 billion USD. NVIDIA shares led the rise on February 22, after reporting outstanding income growth, thanks to the boom in the artificial intelligence industry.
