Joining hands with NVIDIA to spend 200 million USD to build AI Factories with supercomputer systems, Mr. Truong Gia Binh ‘dreams’ of Vietnam having 3-5% of AI workers

FPT Corporation has just announced a comprehensive strategic cooperation with NVIDIA – the world’s leading multinational technology corporation – to promote Artificial Intelligence (AI) research and provide services and solutions to customers. Vietnam and globally.

The two sides plan to build an Artificial Intelligence Factory (AI Factory), train high-quality human resources and become a Service Delivery Partner in NVIDIA’s partner network.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding, FPT plans to invest 200 million USD to build an AI Factory to provide a Cloud Computing platform for AI research and development and sovereignty in Vietnam. The factory includes supercomputer systems operating on NVIDIA’s latest technology (including the NVIDIA AI Enterprise application suite – development technology framework and H100 Tensor Core GPU graphics chip).

AI Factory will provide GPU cloud services to help FPT’s business customers globally access the most core resources to improve research capacity and accelerate the speed of AI application, especially generative AI. (Generative AI).

As one of the Service Delivery Partners in NVIDIA’s partner network, FPT also aims to become a Global Systems Integrator. Accordingly, FPT will provide software, hardware, cloud computing services and especially Generative AI solutions for businesses in the fields of Automotive Technology, Manufacturing, Finance, and Banking. and Insurance, helping businesses improve performance and automate operations. The two sides also expanded the AI research project with the AI Labs model.

FPT plans to incorporate NVIDIA training content into formal teaching at Universities and High Schools to develop high-tech human resources. The group aims to have at least 30,000 students and pupils access the program within 5 years.

In addition, FPT and NVIDIA cooperate to promote the development of the e-sports community and create digital content on the cloud platform through the Cloud Gaming platform in Vietnam. FPT will provide infrastructure and deploy NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW service to customers.

Answering why NVIDIA chose Vietnam to invest, representative Mr. Keith Strier said: “Vietnam has people and a culture of commitment, responsibility for their own future and leadership ability. We realize that Vietnam is ready for the future. Mr. Jensen Huang – CEO of NVIDIA Corporation said we should return to Vietnam and expand our business there. So we did that.”

Mr. Truong Gia Binh also confided: “25 years ago, FPT had the dream of exporting software. To date, Vietnam has 1 million people working in the IT field, serving many customers globally. Today, we raise another dream: AI nation with 3-5% of workers in the AI field.
