Investing more than 3,200 billion VND to upgrade and expand Phu Cat airport

(Dan Tri) – Binh Dinh requires that in August the investment project to build runway No. 2 and synchronous works at Phu Cat Airport’s flight area must begin.

Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee, has issued a document assigning the Provincial Traffic Project Management Board to urgently coordinate with relevant departments, branches and localities to prepare complete documents and procedures to ensure the project’s groundbreaking in August.

The Chairman of Binh Dinh province requested to start construction of the project immediately after the groundbreaking ceremony, ensuring that phase 1 can be put into operation after 10 months.

In the immediate future, the Management Board will focus on completing relevant documents and procedures to soon start building resettlement areas and reburial areas to serve the project.

The Provincial Chairman requested the Management Board to coordinate with Regiment 940, Regiment 925, Division 372 and related units to urgently hand over defense land to implement the project; urgently develop a detailed schedule for implementing compensation and site clearance of the project, including investment in the construction of resettlement areas and reburial areas to serve the project, and report to the Provincial People’s Committee before February 28.

The Department of Natural Resources and Environment is assigned to coordinate with units to develop procedures for implementing documents and procedures for exploiting materials for the project to be completed within about 2 months; for contents beyond its authority, promptly report and propose to the Provincial People’s Committee for consideration and direction of implementation…

Previously, the People’s Committee of Binh Dinh province issued a decision approving the investment policy for the project to build runway No. 2 and synchronous works at the Phu Cat Airport.

The project has a total investment of 3,246 billion VND, assigned to the Provincial Traffic Project Management Board as the investor. The investment implementation period is from 2025 to 2028.

Binh Dinh has also sent a document to the Ministry of National Defense and the Air Defense – Air Force, requesting consideration of handing over nearly 110 hectares of national defense land to implement the investment project to build runway No. 2 and synchronous works at the Phu Cat Airport.

According to the People’s Committee of Binh Dinh province, the investment project to build runway No. 2 and synchronous works at Phu Cat Airport is one of the key projects, playing an important role in creating momentum to promote local socio-economic development.

The Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People’s Committee have prioritized resources for the project, determined to implement it in 2025 and will put it into operation in stages after 10 months of project commencement.
