BINH DINH DEVELOPS SEMICONDUCTOR TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATED WITH URBAN AIRPORT
Hoa Hoi Industrial Park, Phu Cat district is planned to develop the electronics and semiconductor industry, associated with the airport urban area.
The content was mentioned in the announcement ceremony of Binh Dinh Planning for the period 2021-2030, vision to 2050, on the morning of December 23. Binh Dinh Chairman Pham Anh Tuan said that the province’s planning has 5 development sectors including high-tech industry and 4.0 technology; Agriculture, forestry, fisheries; logistics; residential area .

Đô thị sân bay là đô thị thu nhỏ bao gồm sân bay và khu vực dân cư đa chức năng nằm trong và ngoài ranh giới sân bay.
With the field of high technology and 4.0 technology, the province focuses on high-value manufacturing and processing industry. In particular, the province focuses on investing in electronic components and semiconductors, along with information technology and artificial intelligence industries.
To develop the electronics and semiconductor industry, the province will build an “airport urban area” associated with Hoa Hoi Industrial Park in Phu Cat District. This Industrial Park has an area of 266.09 hectares in Cat Hanh commune, located on Highway 1 and about 8 km from Phu Cat Airport – which is expected to be upgraded to an international airport. The Urban Airport is a miniature urban area including the airport and multi-functional residential areas located inside and outside the airport boundaries.
In early November, during a working trip to Korea, local leaders expressed their desire for this country’s businesses to invest in the field of semiconductor and rare earth technology. Currently, many large companies in the semiconductor field have invested billions of dollars in the semiconductor field in Vietnam.
Before being planned to develop the semiconductor industry, Binh Dinh also developed Quy Hoa science urban area with the establishment of the ICISE Center and information technology projects of FPT and TMA companies… In addition, the province will develop industries such as steel production, offshore wind power; renewable energy, processing industry of agriculture, forestry, fisheries; pharmaceutical production… creating a foundation to promote Development.
The province will develop high-tech industry with a focus on the high-value manufacturing and processing industry; grow tourism into a spearhead economic sector; develop agriculture, forestry and fisheries based on high technology; improve seaport and logistics services; and rapidly and sustainably boost urban development.
In the future, Binh Dinh plans to have 3 cities, Quy Nhon, An Nhon and Hoai Nhon. In particular, Quy Nhon City was expanded to the northeast, taking Thi Nai lagoon as the center. The province’s new administrative center will be built in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai said that with its potential and advantages together with commitments from investors, Binh Dinh will see strong development in the time to come.
Binh Dinh is a coastal province that holds a strategic position near the central point of the North-South Expressway and railway line.
